Fourth in the Harbor

Each year, invited by hand drawn invitation, residents and friends of the Harmon Park neighborhood in York Harbor, Maine gather to celebrate the Fourth of July with a parade and party.

Children and adults dress in costume, decorate bikes and trikes, and muster at 18 Harmon Park Road.  They then walk a loop through the neighborhood ending at the Steedman's home.

Pete Steedman reads the Declaration of Independence to the gathered crowd before singing accompanied by an accordion player.

Children play games on the lawn and admire the next generate of parade goers.

Many thanks to the Steedman family for organizing and hosting the Fourth in the Harbor.  It is an American tradition at its best.
